Cherie Montgomery
Retirement Village Manager
With nearly 20 years’ experience in managing retirement villages in NZ and Australia, Cherie admits that she has never wanted to move to another industry. “When you work in an environment where residents live, you become part of their everyday lives.”
Cherie enjoys the daily interaction of village life, especially having one on one time with residents. “I love hearing stories of earlier lives, children and travels, it’s such a privilege”. Cherie is excited with the new Community Centre now open, the resort-style centre now offers residents everything from a lounge, bar, pool, gymnasium, library and much more.
It is a great addition to the already thriving Ormiston Rise community.
Wendy Scholl
Retirement Living Sales Support and Administrator
Wendy’s entire working life has been customer service related, from Banking and Finance to Hotel Management. Wendy is now applying these skills to working in the Retirement industry.
Wendy is more than happy to assist both the Ormiston Rise residents and anyone wishing to call in and see what Retirement Living is all about.
“Working at Ormiston Rise honestly feels like a privilege to me, it is like we are a growing family with such an exciting future. For me, speaking to different residents each day and hearing their stories is a highlight each week.”
Amy Roach
Retirement Living Consultant
Originally from New Zealand, Amy has over 10 years’ experience in the retirement living industry. She has lived on the Redland Coast for 15 years and can’t imagine being anywhere else.
Amy is looking forward to being a part of the exciting new apartments currently being built at Ormiston Rise, especially getting to know all the new residents and hearing about their lives. “One of the things I love about working in the retirement industry is that you learn something new every day, our residents and people we meet along the way have so much history and knowledge to share” says Amy.
Amy says, “I consider it a huge privilege and responsibility to assist residents to transition into community life”.
Linda McElwaine
Retirement Living Administrator
Linda grew up at Amity Point on North Stradbroke Island. Her daily commute to high school included a trip across the bay by barge as there were no water taxis available at that time.
On leaving school, Linda worked for a number of years at Point Lookout before moving to the “mainland” to seek out new opportunities.
Linda loves to travel but is always happy to return home to Australia and to the Redlands which she has called home these many years. She enjoys photography and is looking forward to making the most of the photo opportunities presented by the Village.
“I feel fortunate to work in such a lovely and unique environment, with a friendly and supportive team and to meet the many residents who are happy and eager to share their stories with us”.
The Tranquil Retirement Group is a proud member of the Family Business Australian association and LASA.
