ANZAC Day 2023 – the first in our stunning new Community Centre. A gunfire breakfast with a twist followed by a 9.30am service created such a moving atmosphere – not a dry eye in the house. Deanna read “In Flanders Fields”. One of our village veterans, Phil, spoke beautifully about the 50th anniversary of the end of the Australian involvement in the Vietnam War and then laid the wreath. The Ode was read and a minutes silence observed.
A historic ANZAC ceremony in our village. Oh and not to mention homemade ANZAC biscuits with a cuppa to round the morning off. All in all a very moving day for our village with family, staff and visitors of the winged variety. Lest We Forget.
